Machine construction
The rigid construction of the Meehanite cast iron bench, with a fully ribbed tubular structure and an inclination of 30° + 30° allows to obtain in the Viper series an exceptional stability in heavy cutting conditions together with an optimal removal and evacuation of the swarf being processed.
The reaction forces resulting from the cutting operation are minimized, obtaining a high degree of precision during machining. Both X, Z and Y axes are supported by suitably treated wide section flat guides, maintaining an excellent speed of rapid movement.
Spindle head
The Viper series spindles, unparalleled in speed, rigidity and precision, are housed in a cast iron head body designed for the application of high power and relative torques.
In the realization, particular attention has been paid to the prevention of thermal deformations to be able to guarantee a superior quality in the working process.
The Viper line adopts Fanuc brushless motors with double winding in order to maintain adequate power and torque at every speed and to obtain a flexible machine for the most varied uses in terms of feeds, speed and materials to be processed.
The Viper series allows to obtain an excellent surface finish and extraordinary quantities of metal removed.
The high precision, grade P4, of the angular contact bearings of the spindle line and internal bearings of suitable diameter make this model robust, precise and reliable over long periods of time.
Turret
This model features a 12-position radial turret with large section and proven rigidity with high rotational speed that makes this machine excellent in manufacturing machining for BMT65 powered tools.
The speed can be up to 10,000 RPM, if equipped with the optionally prearranged.
Axis translation
The axes are moved by preloaded THK recirculating screws of Ø mm28xP6 for the X axis and Ø mm40xP10 for the Y axis Ø mm32xP8 for the Z axis. The axis motors are Fanuc brushless type of 2.8 KW.
Lubrication
The guides and recirculating axle screws are lubricated by means of an automatic centralised circuit. Lubrication is constantly monitored for confirmation of the actual amount of lubricant in circulation. This sophisticated monitoring system avoids any problems caused by a low or insufficient amount of lubrication pressure.
Chip evacuation
The 30° + 30° design of the bench and the appropriate measures in the guards allow optimal evacuation of the swarf created during machining, keeping the areas relative to the axis travel routes clean at all times.
